Hathway launches broadband internet at Coimbatore

MUMBAI: Hathway Cable and Datacom Private Limited, a part of the Rajan Raheja group has launched its Broadband Internet services in Coimbatore based on Docsis technology. The MSO also has plans to target residential, small medium enterprises and corporates through aggressive marketing and customer relationship.Hathway's Broadband Internet is presently available in the cities Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Baroda, Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jaalundhar, Kanpur.


Hathway spreads to Lucknow, Gwalior

Hathway Cable & Datacom Private Limited, a part of the Rajan Raheja group, has set up operations in Lucknow and Gwalior. Hathway's association with its joint ventures will soon see the rollout of the MSO's broadband and digital services in the two cities, a company release says. Hathway's cable TV is already available in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Nashik, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Mysore Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Kanpur and Jhansi. The MSO is currently offering digital cable services in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore Hyderabad and Jalandhar.


Hathway launches digital cable TV service in Nasik

Hathway Cable and Datacom Private Limited, a part of the Rajan Raheja group, has launched in its digital cable TV services in Nasik. Previously the cable operators had entered Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Jalandhar. "To be a single point access provider bringing into the homes and workplace the converged world on information, entertainment and services," states the company in an official announcement. Hathway has launched Digital Cable TV Services in Nasik. Mumbai-Nasik link is connected on the Railtel fibre at a distance of approx 200kms using Dense Wave Divisional Multiplexing (DWDM)technology which allows multiple services on a single fibre offering 138 Video Channels + 10 radio Channels = 148 Channels .The digital service from Nasik has been expanded to neighbouring areas viz. Devlali, Bhagur and planning to expand to further areas in the near future. Hathway Digital cable TV services are offered to the customer through a remote controlled digital device, which will be accompanied by a fully functional smart card. The fully functional card, similar to a SIM card in Cellular Phone, is the key to the device, without which the device does not function. The digital device is feature packed and it changes the entire TV viewing experience for the subscriber.


Hathway implements Oracle E-Business Suite

MUMBAI: Hathway Cable & Datacom has implemented Oracle 11i E-Business Suit as its ERP applications in order to manage data of different lines of its businesses. The multi-system operate offers services in areas of cable TV, broadband and cable channels. Covered in the first phase were the purchase, stores and inventory, accounts and finance functions. This went live from 18 January. In the next phase, which will start shortly, the ERP solutions will involve the human resources, marketing and sales functions. Hathway has engaged the services of Satyam Computer Services for the implementation of this project.

"Our business processes are ready and in line with Oracle's integrated solutions which will tightly integrate the various functions, business processes, key stakeholders and employees across the organisation through this ERP solution," said Hathway Cable & Datacom MD and CEO K Jayaraman. In April 2006, Hathway decided to implement Oracle Applications 11i E-Business Suite This was to run on HP servers using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 Advanced Server and Oracle 10g database on the Sun server platform.

"The implementation of this ERP solution is expected to provide better visibility on our transactions and inventory. This will improve our customer delivery performance, reduce inventory and process cycle while bringing down operating costs. The solution is also expected to better cost of compliance and resource utilization through standardized processes, and improve customer service with better controls," said Jayaraman.
